After months of planning and building, our pool and pool house are finally finished! I’m so excited to give you a little tour and share the details that made this space come to life.
The Pool
Because of the slope in our yard, we added a few small steps and a border with black star gravel for easier upkeep. Solar walkway lights are one of my favorite touches. They give off the prettiest glow at night when we head to the hot tub.
We also added a safety fence from Premier Pool Safety. It may not be the cutest feature, but the peace of mind is priceless.
The pool itself is a “play pool” with a gradual depth (3.5–5–4 feet), perfect for kids and adults. Our tanning ledge has three bubblers, plus Adirondack chairs and an Amazon umbrella for shade.
- Tanning chairs: Wayfair
- Side table + umbrella: Business & Pleasure
- Pillows: Target
- Bistro set: Business & Pleasure
This little nook by the garden has quickly become my safe haven. I love sipping coffee and watching the sunrise here.
The Hot Tub
The hot tub is hands down our most-used feature. A few nights a week, Matt and I sneak out after putting the kids down, pour a glass of wine, and unwind while watching football on the outdoor TV.
The Pool House
The pool house is part cabana, part outdoor kitchen, and where everyone gathers when we host. I designed the architecture myself, and it feels so breezy, even in the heat.
Most of the furniture is from Walmart or Amazon (still can’t believe the quality!).
- Deck box: Our go-to storage for toys, floats, and umbrellas.
- Kitchenette: Sink, drink fridge, and our Gozney pizza oven (cooks a pizza in 60 seconds and is a party favorite).
- Dining table: Designed by a friend, paired with Amazon chairs.
On cooler nights, we cozy up by the fire, watch a movie, or sit around the barstools for dinner.
Final Touches
- Brick color: Soji White (Sherwin-Williams)
- Ceiling stain: Golden Oak (Sherwin-Williams)
This backyard has become everything we dreamed of. The perfect mix of play, relaxation, and hosting!
